Most of the staff at the speech clinic are speech therapists but our staff also include psychologist, dentist and administrative personnel. We enjoy close cooperation with other disciplines outside the clinic, e.g. doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and teachers in schools and childcare.
Having difficulty communicating or problems with chewing or swallowing are not only difficult for the individual, but naturally also affect our interactions with others. This may prevent affected individuals enjoying a full social life, or cause difficulties in managing certain aspects of daily life independently. In many cases, support is needed from those around the individual in order to manage everyday life or to undergo successful rehabilitation/improvement. Consequently, parents, other relatives, care personnel and school personnel are crucial to the treatment.
We monitor developments within our field and influence its development through our own research and development work. Our ambition is for patients to receive first class treatment and for them to feel well treated by staff.
