The work of the hospital physicists includes quality assurance, quality control, methodological development, optimising of investigation methods, protection against radiation and training of personnel working with activities involving use of radiation (ionising and non-ionising). Services include radiology and nuclear medicine.
The hospital physicists administrate and are responsible for the hospital management's obligations in respect of the Radiation Protection Act, together with general advice. The Hospital Physics Unit is made up of the hospital management's experts in issues relating to radiation physics and protection from radiation and they coordinate the work on protection from radiation.
