We are the largest rehabilitation medicine department in Sweden and forms a rehabilitation medicine centre for patients within the county council of Stockholm.
The clinical activities are divided into three main processes:
-Brain damage rehabilitation
-Pain rehabilitation
-Other neurological rehabilitation
Rehabilitation in co-operation
The department accepts patients from the whole of Stockholm. Rehabilitation occurs as part of outpatient and inpatient care. The entire rehabilitation process occurs in close co-operation with the patient, the Social Insurance Office (Försäkringskassan), the employer, the primary health care and other participants as indicated.
We work in multiprofessional teams
The rehabilitation team consists of a number of professions including doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social councellors, speech therapists, psychologists and medical secretaries.
Education, research, development
The clinic strives for integrating education, research and development with clinical activity and to function as a source of information within the areas where there are distinction competencies. The departments FoUU (Research & Development) is pursued within Karolinska Institutet, Department of Clinical Sciences, Danderyd University Hospital.
