The Department of Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Unit comprise:
- Emergency care
- Perioperative anaesthetic care (including sedation and/or pain management)
- Advanced general intensive care
- Specialised respiratory therapy
- Specialised pain diagnostics and treatment
- Sterile services
For externally referred patients the following services may be of particular interest:
Anaesthetic Clinic (preoperative assessment)
The aim of the preoperative assessment is to optimise the patient’s condition prior to the day of surgery.
National Respiratory Centre (previously Respiratory Clinic)
A national specialist centre for individually tailored tracheostomy cannulas and a centre of knowledge for people with chronic airways limitation. The centres also possess unique knowledge in the area of nasal CPAP/BIPAP for small children.
Pain Clinic
A well-functioning, multi-disciplinary pain clinic which offers outpatient visits for patients coming predominantly from within the Stockholm County Council area.
Sterile Services Centre
The Sterile Services Centre has been included in the department since 1 April 2007. The centre works together with the clinics at Danderyd Hospital and also with organisations outside the hospital.
